The Loonies are out of the Asylum........
....and trying to influence the government. One of the more ludicrous suggestions has come from 'The Social Market Foundation'. They are described as a 'think tank', although it appears thinking is not one of their greatest attributes. They have put forward an idea that pensioners should be denied a free bus pass thus saving the government £1bn. The reason given is that providing bus passes adds 'nothing to the economy'.

Well, these pensioners have spent fifty years or so 'adding' to the economy, some have fought for their country. Is this any way to express our gratitude? Is this how we demonstrate what an enlightened society we live in? Of course not! Let us hope the government do not embrace this ridiculous idea.
